Brew Haha is looking for a skilled and knowledgeable coffee professional to prepare and serve high-quality coffee and other beverages to customers. Baristas are essential in creating a positive and welcoming experience for patrons and ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty. The role involves a combination of customer service, product expertise, and attention to detail.

Part-time 
Saturday - Sunday: 6:30 am to 2:30(approx) pm


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, including espresso-based drinks, brewed coffee, and specialty creations.
  • Operate espresso machines, coffee makers, and other equipment to brew and steam beverages.
  • Greet customers with a friendly and welcoming demeanor, providing excellent customer service.
  • Take customer orders, answer questions about beverages and menu items, and make recommendations based on preferences.
  • Ensure timely and accurate order preparation, striving for consistency and quality in every beverage served.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the coffee menu, including different blends, roasts, and brewing methods.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times.
  • Regularly clean and maintain coffee machines, grinders, and other equipment to ensure optimal performance and hygiene.
  • Process customer transactions, handle cash, and maintain an accurate cash register.
  • Keep track of orders and ensure accuracy in pricing.
  • Suggest add-ons, pastries, or other complementary items to customers, promoting additional sales.
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining an appealing and attractive display of coffee-related merchandise.
  • Collaborate with other baristas and team members to ensure a smooth workflow and consistent customer experience.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues to coordinate tasks and share responsibilities.
  • Ensure back stock/prep area is clean and organized including help putting away inventory, cleaning syrup and roasting prep areas and ensuring easy access to all products and supplies.
  • Assist with kitchen/bakery in food prep, dishes, etc when needed.
  • Clean, reset, and ensure overall cleanliness, safety, comfortability and visual appeal of the entire shop.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a barista or in a similar customer service role is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of coffee beans, brewing methods, and coffee equipment.
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods.
  • Reliable transportation to commute to work.

Pay Rate

$12-$15/hour DOE

Description

Our coffee trailer is available for teacher/employee appreciation events, celebrations, and other events. The Brew Haha Coffeehouse Mobile Events Manager is responsible for transporting the coffee trailer to and from events, assisting with customer orders and making drinks, and helping with the overall maintenance of the truck, trailer, generator, and other equipment.  The Mobile Events Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the trailer is prepped and ready for all events, verifying all information before each event and will be the primary worker for most all trailer events. The Trailer Specialist will help take and prepare orders, clean and maintain the trailer, truck, and generator, and be in charge of trailer prep.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all necessary booking information is collected and valid
    • Touch base with all contacts to answer questions and ensure information 
    • Ensure adequate prep and travel time between multiple gigs
    • Ensure parking and serving information is complete and accurate
  • Work with customers using the preorder system to ensure accurate information is collected
  • Print all preorder stickers before each gig
  • Work with the baker to ensure that all necessary pastries are prepared beforehand and ready on the day of the gig
  • Ensure complete stock/backstock of all trailer items
  • Be the primary worker for trailer events.
  • Work with the scheduler to ensure coverage of the trailer.
  • Complete daily/weekly cleaning and maintenance of the trailer and generator.
    • Establish practical and organized locations for all supplies
    • Make sure supplies are safely and securely stored and easily accessible
    • Lable locations of supplies to allow other employees to find them quickly and easily
  • Ensure gas and oil are checked and filled in both the truck and the generator.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 (due to truck/trailer insurance purposes).
  • Ability to work early mornings and Saturdays.
  • Self-driven and able to work independently.
  • Must be well organized and have good attention to detail.
  • Must be able to load and unload 120 lb wheeled generator using ramps
  • Able and comfortable driving a truck with a 22' trailer.
  • Ability to multi-task when preparing drinks or taking orders.
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to stand for long periods and perform some strenuous tasks.
  • Ability to cooperate and work with other employees.

Description

The Operations Specialist oversees and manages all aspects of efficient flow and operations within the coffee shop and wholesale customers. This includes tracking, procuring, and organizing inventory; creating shop signage; organizing and stocking merchandise and syrups; and caring for and organizing shop furniture and games. The Operations Specialist will work closely with the general manager to ensure the smooth and effective operation of the coffeehouse. They will also work with the owner and wholesale customers to prepare and deliver wholesale supplies within the stated delivery time. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, time management, and effective communication with customers, suppliers, staff, and management.

Responsibilities

  • Merchandise
    • Coordinate with the owner the ordering of any low-stock merchandise
    • Restock merchandise displays including:

  • Maintain and prep syrups
    • Ensure both regular and sugar-free syrup bases are prepped and available
    • Make any needed flavored syrups for shop use as well as prep and stock syrups for retail sale
  • Inventory
    • Inventory Control
      • Implement inventory control systems and procedures to monitor stock levels and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
      • Conduct physical inventory counts to ensure the acquisition of the optimal number of needed supplies
    • Ordering and Receiving
      • Analyze inventory levels and consumption patterns to determine optimal reorder points and quantities.
      • Complete shopping at Aldi, Costco, and other stores as needed for all necessary supplies.
      • Place purchase orders with suppliers promptly to ensure an uninterrupted supply of consumables and supplies.
      • Inspect and verify the quality and quantity of delivered items, resolving any discrepancies with suppliers as needed.
    • Storage and Organization
      • Ensure proper inventory storage to maintain freshness, quality, and safety standards.
      • Implement the FIFO (First-In, First-Out) method to rotate stock and minimize waste.
      • Organize storage areas for efficient access and retrieval of items, labeling shelves and bins as necessary.
      • Unload and stock shelves with delivered items as soon as possible to keep work areas neat and organized
    • Waste Reduction and Cost Control
      • Collaborate with management to develop strategies for reducing waste and improving inventory turnover.
      • Implement cost-effective measures to optimize inventory levels and minimize carrying costs.
    • Team Collaboration
      • Work closely with coffee shop staff to ensure they have the necessary supplies and equipment for daily operations.
      • Foster open communication with kitchen staff, baristas, and management to address inventory-related issues and concerns.
  • Maintain shop furniture and games
    • Fix or tighten any loose tables or chairs.
    • Straighten/Organize coffee shop games
    • Periodically check the playable state of games (ensure all required pieces are available)
    • Report larger maintenance needs to the owner
  • Prepare and deliver wholesale customer orders
    • Prepare and gather in-house syrup orders
    • Prepare (grind if necessary) and gather house-roasted coffee orders
    • Ship or deliver orders as necessary
  • Cleaning and Organization
    • Ensure that the back supply area is organized and clear of clutter
      • Check and organize any shelves to ensure the quick and efficient acquisition of needed supplies
    • Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable customer area and employee work environment.
    • Ensure a clean and safe environment both inside and outside of the coffee shop

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in inventory management, preferably within a hospitality or food service environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with suppliers, staff, and management.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Problem-solving skills to address challenges and discrepancies.
  • Physical stamina to lift, carry, and organize inventory items.
  • Knowledge of coffee shop operations, equipment, and supplies is a plus.

Pay Rate
